My Essay About These Wonderful Modernists. :)

Well, In all the stories theirs at least a glimpse of the future. or a little taste of what they think it looks like in their eyes.Or how it is today. For example, The Story "The first seven years" by Bernard Malamud he shows a lot of generational differences in education and technology like today. A lot of people have their own opinions and ideas. But it also shows how people don't approve of it.. like for example Miriam's dad and how he doesn't approve of the choices shes making. it also proves that things are only going to get worse and education is just going to be pushed aside. Another story we read was "Fahrenheit 451" By Ray Bradbury. I considered it modernist because he shows a glimpse of what he thinks the future would be like without books. In this story people aren't allowed to read books or basically have their own opinion. Once their privileges were taken away they couldn't help but get curious! i mean i would too! imagine someone taking away you're iPhone but, it's still connected and you can still receive messages.. wouldn't you be super omega curious of what those messages contained?!?!!.. well i would. We also read and memorized " Richard Cory " Edwin Arlington Robinson. Now that one gives a powerful meaning. Richard Cory was a normal guy on the outside, but on the inside he hides his thoughts and in the end he ends up taking his life. That was shocking to every reader who thought it was about something else like i did.........cause i honestly didn't see that coming. I guess he's got a lot of "Inner and Outer" stuff. OK confession. I don't really remember what that is but Im guessing "Inner" is Your own thoughts. And "Outer" Is your view on life.. But.. IMAGINE!!!! Oh goodness..i mean his outer appearance was wonderful!! But I really wish that the Author would have put some UGHH.. At least a clue That he was going to kill himself.! Modernism means different things to these Authors..And it's amazing reading about their individual opinions. Im really looking forward to seeing and reading about more individual opinions. Let the adventure begin!:)

My Modernist (:

                                   Joseph Conrad :)

Joseph Conrad wrote many stories and Novels. Here's some sad information.. :

In 1861 Joseph’s nationalist father, who was an outspoken supporter of the serfs and critic of Poland’s oppressors, was arrested along with his wife for being involved with the Polish National Committee’s anti-Russian activities. They and four-year old Joseph were exiled to the province of Vologda in Northern Russia. The living conditions and harsh climate took their toll on Joseph’s parents: they both contracted tuberculosis, Evelina dying of it in 1865, Apollo in 1869. He was celebrated at his death by the Poles in patriotic honour.
Shaken from their deaths and also suffering from various health problems that would plague him for the rest of his life, at the age of twelve Joseph became the ward of his maternal uncle Tadeusz Bobrowski (d.1894), a landowner who lived in Cracow, Poland. He would be a great support to Joseph morally and financially for many years to come.

He was then sixty-two years old and had been for a quarter of a century the wisest, the firmest, the most indulgent of guardians, extending over me a paternal care and affection, a moral support which I seemed to feel always near me in the most distant parts of the earth.” (A Personal Record, Ch. 2)
As well as speaking Polish, Joseph had been taught French by his governess Mlle. Durand and received some schooling from his father. Now his uncle hired a student from Cracow University to continue his education, tutoring him in Latin, Greek, geography, and mathematics although Joseph disliked the formality of lessons. He was by nature full of nervous energy and physically active. His frustrated tutor soon learned that from an early age he yearned to travel on the seas and go to the ‘dark continent’ of Africa. In 1874 with his uncle’s blessing and as a way of avoiding conscription by the Russians, Conrad travelled to the bustling port town of Marseilles in southern France. As an important hub of the French Merchant Marine, Conrad was soon able to find employment with several French vessels over the next four years. It was the beginning of his fifteen year career as seaman during which he would meet so many of the men who would figure largely in his works.
Life at sea was challenging but full of thrills and adventure and suited Conrad well who at times had a tempestuous personality. He visited many of the major ports of the world and worked on every kind of vessel possible including the ‘Sainte Antoine’, ‘Duke of Sutherland’ ‘Palestine’, ‘Otago’ and ‘Tremolino’. He was involved with gunrunning and smuggling for a time, and in the off hours incurred a number of gambling debts. When he could not repay them he attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest. He survived and his uncle paid off his debts but he lost his position with the French merchants so joined the English ship ‘Mavis’ in 1878. Two years later he passed his third mate’s exam and in 1886 earned his Master’s certificate in the British Merchant Service and became a British Citizen. It was at this time that he changed his name to Joseph Conrad. His next few years of service took him to various ports of call including the Malay Archipelago, the Gulf of Siam and the Belgian Congo. Under the employ of the Societe Anonyme pour le Commerce du Haut-Congo in 1890 Conrad at last plunged into the ‘dark continent’ and wrote his ‘Congo Diary’ that would later become The Heart of Darkness.

Im Really hoping we read some of his stories!!! :)

i think i understood the Story " The First Seven Years"

Bwaaaahhhaaahhhaaaaaahaaaaaa I totally knew this story was about love XD !! kidding lol totally didnt see it coming ha, i thought it was about shoes ! I mean C'mon ! haha....
So, i guess Miriam doesn't like Max... BUT.. Feld discovers that his assistant Sobel is in love with her....And I guess she likes him too.......................................... :O......didnt see that one coming did you.. ? Yeah neither did I.
OMG.. so i was looking for summary notes and i came across this one..

"Hence the title of the story, which is an allusion to the Biblical story of how Jacob labored in the service of Laban for seven years to win the hand of Rebecca, whom he loved."

Has Anyone ever read that story in the Bible?!!?!?!!!???!! Well i have ! totally makes sense..!!!

Here's how i envisioned this story .

In the beginning you have a hard working Father who works hard for his business and he also takes good care of his daughter and only wants the best for her. But hen we have the Daughter who only wants material things.. and Education is last on her list.
So her Father was working one day and see's a well educated boy who cares about his future and his career.. total opposite from his daughter. His name is Max. So Max agrees to go on a date with Miriam and I guess Miriam didn't like geeks...... xD

L.A. (:

The Book I Read Is Called " Keeping Secrets " By Alyson Noel.
It Was Freaking Awesome!(:
Seriously I Think I Read It Twice!
The Plot Of The Story Is Basically trying To Remember Who You Are Or Used To Be.
In This story Echos Sister Is Murdered And She Has Been Consumed In All The Grief Of Her Family And Loses Hope In Her Self. The Author Uses Both Approaches By Providing A Diary Of The Sister ( Zoe ) Who Got Murdered. I Guess The Author Shows A lot Of Depression In The Way She Describes How The Life She Lives Has Gotten So Sympathetic After The Tragedy. HONESTLY, I Seriously felt Like I Was Standing On A Set Of A Movie Being Filmed, I Got REALLY, REALLY Into It!!! I Maybe, Might Have, Read It Three Times c:
So Anyways It Was A GREAT GRREEEEEEAATTT Book(:

                     Ok Bye Now (:

I AM HERE.....I Think :(

Oh Gosh. I Don't Even Remember What My " SMART " Goal Was To Begin With!

Dover Beach Relatible Poem .

Well the Poem is Basically about Losing All faith and Hope. So here Is what we Got:

Reaching out to something I may never find
Keeps me from moving forward, afraid of what I'll leave behind
It's always dark and there's a chilling cold here
Where around every corner there's something new to fear
I cannot move with no light guiding me
It's impossible to gain distance when I cannot see

The rights the wrongs, how do I tell
When all I feel are the arms of this living hell
Release and trust are things I fear to feel
So now before you God I desperately kneel
Its not the fist time I've felt so frayed
But this time Lord I turn to you instead of the blade

Help me find answers to the questions I don't know
I'm praying for your presence to somehow show
I have picked up broken pieces before
Though I fear I've lost some as they've shattered to the floor
I as you to please now take my hand
I'm not sure I have anyone else who will understand

I've lost all battles within myself it seems is true
Please dear Lord don't let me lose this one too
Show me the path I must now take
But please God hurry, my wills about to break.
